Jerry L. Altmiller, 37, a Clarkston firefighter, died of cancer Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at Lewiston.



He was born Nov. 17, 1958, to Leroy and Janice Maxwell Altmiller at Orofino, where he grew up and attended schools. In 1975 they moved to Lewiston and he graduated from Lewiston High School. He attended two years of college at Mt. Hood, Ore., and then attended Lewis-Clark State College at Lewiston for two years. While in college he worked part-time for Potlatch Corp. at Lewiston and in 1982 he went to work for the Clarkston Fire Department.

Our darling sister, auntie, niece, cousin, friend and beloved girlfriend lost her valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. She amazed us with her tenacity and spirit.



Jeanna was born at St. Joseph Hospital on May 17, 1958, to Don and Carole Baker. She was the baby of our family and so adorable with her beautiful, red hair and lovely heart. She passed into her new life Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the same hospital where she was born.

Robert D. "Bob" Barrows, a Lewiston resident since 1973, died Thursday, April 12, 2018, of multiple organ failure, at age 59.

Barrows, who was born Jan. 18, 1959, in Berkeley, Calif., graduated from Lewiston High School in 1977 and went on to work for Potlatch Forests Inc. (PFI) in Lewiston beginning in 1979. He retired in 2016 after working 37 years on the paper side.

Peter Joel Bloomsburg of Spokane died March 26, 2022, at age 62. Peter was born July 1, 1959, to Joseph and Beverly Bloomsburg. He is survived by his wife, Caitlin; his sons, Sam and Dave, and his seven brothers and sisters; Vicky, Walter, Dory, Ruth, Jeff, Anne, and Gwen.

Peter was born in Moscow but was raised in Lewiston. Every summer, he and the family would go and work at the family ranch on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Blake Elliott Boyer was born on the dark and snowy night of Dec. 20, 1958. As usual, he was in a hurry and was born at home, in Ione, Wash.

Blake was the middle of five children, raised by parents Evelyn and Butch Boyer. When he was 8, the Boyer family moved to Lewiston where Blake remained and called home. It was there that he met his wife, Sandy Miller. The two married in 1985 and had two children, Matthew and Connie. Blake left this world Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the age of 62.
