Rick Mendenhall

Richard was born Nov. 5, 1961, to Richard and Janet Mendenhall, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
He loved to do anything from getting firewood with his brother, Chuck, to playing video games with his nephew, Dylan. He loved to fish, pick mushrooms or just be outdoors. As long as he was with his family he was happy. Rich was a very happy and lovable person. He loved everybody he knew and he will be greatly missed.
Rich married Shelly in Twin Falls. They had two sons together, Shane and James Mendenhall. The couple later divorced, and he then had two daughters with Karen, Carly and Tara Elizabeth.
He worked in Provo, Utah, for several years building hospitals. He also lived in California with family for a few years before moving back to Orofino.
Rich is survived by his girlfriend, Tina Knight of Orofino; his sons, Shane Mendenhall and Jamie Mendenhall, both of Boise; his daughters, Carly and Tara, both of California; his mother, Janet, and stepfather Rex Gardner of Orofino; his granddaughter, Bella of Boise; his brother, Chuck and Mechell Mendenhall of Weippe; sisters Linda and Gary Wilson of Orofino, Lora and Butch Parkinson, and Lorena and Andy Cantrall, all of Redding, Calif.; nieces and nephews Tanya, Andy, Brandi, John, Kaylee, Tye and Dylan; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Rich was preceded in death by his father, Richard (Dickie) Mendenhall.
There will be a memorial conducted at the IOOF Hall in Weippe at noon Thursday, with a covered-dish meal.
