Kent was my cousin. We grew up together on Normal Hill, going to Webster Elementary and Jenifer Jr. High. We were close through grade school; he, Jerry Eikum, and I; would take turns riding Kent's mini bike up and down their street. He was a very kind person, and when he got sick I was lucky enough to see him several times before he passed; having lunch and just talking about our childhood days. As with my other cousin, Brad Bateman, I wish that I would have worked harder at being his friend.
