Elizabeth (Liz) Pierce of Lewiston passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, surrounded by her family and friends.
Elizabeth Jane DeForest was born Aug. 15, 1959, in Orofino, to Joyce and Gerald Lee DeForest. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1977. Liz had a huge heart and believed in helping others, as she always did. Liz married David Simpson, and they later divorced. She married Samuel (Ed) Pierce June 24, 1984.
Liz is survived by her husband, Ed; her sons and their families, Timothy and Mel DeForest of Clarkston, and Jerry and Corine DeForest of Lewiston; her mother, Joyce Payton of Kamiah; her sisters, Harriet Kalm of Lewiston, Aurora and Ken Riley of Clarkston, and Melinda Carranza of Clarkston; her brothers, Calvin Hines of Kamiah, and Gerald and Melanie Hines of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Liz was preceded in death by her father, Gerald, and her stepfather, Gale Payton.
There will be a service for Liz's family and close friends at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lewiston Community Center. Bring your favorite covered dish
