  • Mimi D. Gordon, 47, Delta, Utah

Mimi D. Gordon left this Earth on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2006, in Delta, Utah, to be an angel in heaven.

Mimi was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and friend. She would make you smile when you were sad. She would make you laugh when you were mad. She was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She taught her daughters to be hard-working, independent, strong women, which will be passed on to her granddaughters.

Mimi was born July 24, 1959, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Don N. and Barb D. Carpenter. She attended Centennial Grade School, Sacajawea Junior High and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1977.

She married Ken Brown in 1978. They had a daughter, Jenny, on Dec. 9, 1978. They were later divorced.

Mimi was then married to Bill Gordon, who helped her to raise Jenny. They were later divorced but remained in close contact.

She worked for her parents at the Beehive for many years and later at the Asotin Market. She also worked for Zip Trip for a few years.

Mimi moved to Delta, Utah, in 1996 where she worked for Curleys bar for about seven years. At the time of her death she was working for Bull Dog Welding in Delta.

Mimi loved spending time with her family and friends. Especially with her daughter and granddaughters. She loved her many dogs. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, and dancing. Her true love was her Harley-Davidson. She was a member of the Harley-Davidson H-O-G club and rode as much as she could.

She is survived by her father Don and stepmother Jan Carpenter of Asotin; mother Barb and stepfather Don Ward of Enterprise, Ore.; daughter Jenny and husband John McDougall; granddaughters, Taylor Hunt and Shelby McDougall, all of Lewiston; sister, Cynthia Carter of Esparto, Calif.; and brother, Greg Carpenter, of Lewiston.

Grandmothers, Nell T. Carpenter and Marian Johnston, and grandfather T.O. Johnston, all preceded her in death.

The family would like to thank all of her friends in Delta for sharing all their memories of Mimi. We want to give a heartfelt thanks to the love of her life, Robert Blair, and her closest friend, Shellie Dutson, both of Delta. You all made this painful tragedy a little easier to handle.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Malcom's Funeral Home, 1711 18th St., Lewiston.
